How to stop wasting on expensive traffic?

Reader

Today, traffic is getting more expensive than ever.

Lots of brands are entering the market every day, competing for eyeballs so they can sell their products.

The more brands enter, the higher the bid for ads becomes.

Ads are super effective for driving traffic to your website.

Unlike content, where you have to rely on algorithms, with ads you can feed the machine with cash and it'll show your ads to as many people as your budget allows.

If your ad is good, it'll get clicked.

More clicks, more traffic, more sales.

But here's the hard kick in the balls...

Not everybody who clicks your ad and lands on your website is going to buy immediately.

Frankly, people's brains are fried nowadays from endless TikTok scrolling and life happens... people get distracted.

So the average visitor will look like this:

And when that happens, you'll need to retarget them with ads to pull them back.

Which means burning more cash. Your CAC goes higher. Your ad spend goes higher.

So how do we prevent this?

Well...

Smart brands capture almost all the traffic before they leave the site.

How?

Every time they drive traffic to their website, they present people with a pop-up form and an incentive to hand over their email.

The deal is like this:

I give you 10% off to spend on my brand.

You give me your email.

Simple.

When someone signs up to your emails, you've now acquired that lead and can convert them through email.

That means your CAC goes down.

And you can sell to that person again and again through email.

Which means your LTV (lifetime value) goes up.

And now you have more cash on the backend to spend on ads and acquire more customers.

That's why in email marketing your pop-up form is one of your biggest levers.

Becasuse if more people sign up, more people you can sell to.

And obviously more money you can make duh...

And if you don't have one in place then you're wasting money on expensive traffic...

But there's a good and a bad pop-up form.

A bad one converts around 2-3% of website visitors.

An effective one should convert 5-8%+.

A lot of brands fall into that first category...

Which is sad.

So what does a good pop-up form actually look like?

Well...

In the next email, I'll show you the difference between a bad and good pop-up form.

I'll show you how to build one that converts 8%+...

And how I helped one of my clients convert up to 21% of their website visitors.

See you in the next one.

Reader In the previous email, I told you that one of the biggest levers in your email marketing is going to be your pop-up form. The reason is simple... The more people join your email list, the more money you can make. But the average industry signup rate is only 2-3%. That's not good... Especially for a brand constantly driving traffic to its website through ads or content. Imagine you've got 100k website visitors and only 2% subscribe. That's 2,000 subscribers. But with a pop-up form that...

Reader Remember that email I told you about where I asked my client to tell me a story that foreshadows the work he does today? He told me a story about his grandma and the lessons she taught him that he still uses in his business today. We got that story written into an email, did some tweaks, added a segue to the current offer we were running, and told people to click and buy. So what happened after that? Well... as I was sitting yesterday on a call with one of the founders to fix some...
