my client's grandma story is crushing it

Reader

Remember that email I told you about where I asked my client to tell me a story that foreshadows the work he does today?

He told me a story about his grandma and the lessons she taught him that he still uses in his business today.

We got that story written into an email, did some tweaks, added a segue to the current offer we were running, and told people to click and buy.

So what happened after that?

Well... as I was sitting yesterday on a call with one of the founders to fix some Klaviyo triggers for some cool automations we're going to build, he asked me:

“How did that grandma story email perform?”

“Oh, that one,” I smile. “Did really well, was a good one...” I click off the automations and head over to the campaign tab. “Let me show you.”

“It has 52.39% open, 0.36% clicks, and £....” I look at him. “So it did decent.”

“We got plenty of replies from it.” He said.

“Oh really?”

“Yeah, a lot of people were commenting to us about it.”

“Oh, that’s really nice.”

The thing about personal founder stories is that they give you that human touch and show people there’s an actual person behind the brand they’re about to buy from.

And that's what people want now-days.

People want to buy from people.

And lot of people resonate with stories.

They find themselves in them.

And when you keep showing up with stories from the founder that people can relate to, you start building that bond with your audience.

When those bonds start to strengthen, two things are likely to happen:

  1. They click that email and buy your product straightaway.
  2. When the opportunity presents itself, they choose you over your competitors.

Which is why it is so important to build that relationship with your audience.

Especially with your email list.

Cuz it's going to be one of the biggest assets of your business.

Imagine having a list of loyal subscribers that buy from you again and again.

That’s where the real profit is made.

So Reader...

Build your email list and build that relationship with them.

It will reward you.

Reader In the previous email, I told you that one of the biggest levers in your email marketing is going to be your pop-up form. The reason is simple... The more people join your email list, the more money you can make. But the average industry signup rate is only 2-3%. That's not good... Especially for a brand constantly driving traffic to its website through ads or content. Imagine you've got 100k website visitors and only 2% subscribe. That's 2,000 subscribers. But with a pop-up form that...

Reader Today, traffic is getting more expensive than ever. Lots of brands are entering the market every day, competing for eyeballs so they can sell their products. The more brands enter, the higher the bid for ads becomes. Ads are super effective for driving traffic to your website. Unlike content, where you have to rely on algorithms, with ads you can feed the machine with cash and it'll show your ads to as many people as your budget allows. If your ad is good, it'll get clicked. More...
