Hey Reader If you want to produce successful advertising… Be it an ad or email... One of the best things you can do is truly know your market. Whenever I start working with a client, the very first thing I do is research the market they operate in. You want to know their needs. Their desires. Their pain points. Their dreams. What keeps them up at night. Because if you can identify their problems and desires, you can write copy that slices through like a hot knife through butter. “If you can articulate your buyer’s problem better than they can articulate it themselves, said Chris Orlob, they’ll automatically assume you have the best solution.” When you tap into your prospect’s pain points and desires, getting their attention becomes much easier. They read your copy and think: “Exactly… how does he know I’m going through this?” “Yep, that’s me.” “Oh… he gets me.” “He might actually have what I need.” And that’s how you sell a lot more products through your advertising. Whether that’s an ad or an email. Years ago, market research was much harder. Copywriters had to get out into the market. Talk to people. Read magazines. Study anything they could get their hands on. They’d spend days gathering information before writing a single ad. But once they understood the market… Once they got inside their prospect’s mind… They’d sit down and write ads that printed millions. Today, it’s different. AI has made market research much easier. Let it do the heavy lifting. Here’s how. Ask AI to research the pain points, dreams, desires, struggles, and objections of people in your market. Have it search Reddit, YouTube comments, Quora, and other platforms where people openly share what they’re going through. Why those platforms? Because that’s where people write exactly what they’re thinking. They explain their struggles. They ask questions. They give advice. In other words… They hand you the language your market already uses. Then collect those words and organize them into a table based on the categories I mentioned earlier. Now you’re writing with your market’s words, not yours. And that’s what separates a copywriter who understands the craft from someone who simply asks AI to write for them. That’s it for today. Thank you for reading. Elton |
